DANCE

Charlotte Johnson is a native of Saint Petersburg Florida where she began dancing at the age of seven at The Academy of Ballet Arts. She attended John Hopkins Middle School formally known as 16th Street Middle School and Intensive dance programs such as The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and Dance Theatre of Harlem. After Graduating as a Dance Icon from the Pinellas County Center for The Arts at Gibbs High School, Charlotte went on to continue her professional training at The Juilliard School under the direction Of Laurence Rhodes. Upon Graduation she had the opportunity of working with the Bill T Jones Arnie Zane Dance Company, Ballet Noir, Trainor Dance Group and many other up and coming artist. Currently Ms. Johnson is in her third year of directing the Dance program here at John Hopkins Middle School Center for the Arts, Journalism and Multi-Media Studies.

 

"Dancing Makes Me Fearless." - Charlotte Johnson

Tai White was born in New York, yet raised and trained in St. Petersburg. A free-lance choreographer for passion and for hire, Tai has worked highly acclaimed teachers such as Aubrey Lynch, Freddie Moore, Monica Richardson, Sheryl Wong and Alenka Cizmesija among others. He has also choreographed various high scoring works for the Youth America Grand Prix competition. Tai is a natural born performer, despite his intense training starting in his mid-20's- thanks to Suzanne Pomerantzeff and Ferdinand Dejesus. Through a local St. Petersburg dance group, He was featured on BET's 106&park. In addition, Tai is the choreographer, director, and producer of his own production Shadows of the Mind, and other community and professional projects. He currently is a member of St. Pete Ballet and is in his first year of teaching at John Hopkins Middle School Center for the Arts and Journalism Studies.
